It has begun and it can be many things but not everything. it grows and becomes what it becomes and in gaining identity loses possibility. It gains depth and opportunity for interaction. It enters a conversation, not all conversations, and has the opportunity to say something as it loses the opportunity to say everything. It is creative and destructive.
Tradition, perception, experience, language, and memory create the constant collision of my considerations. My works are attempt to achieve the unexpected and be richer for the resistance. My process requires constant addition, revision, and abuse. This is not a delicate way of working though it lends itself to delicacy in moments. It is rough and violent.
Any artist who says that art isn’t wasteful, violent, dirty work is a liar. The same is true for any that says art isn’t loving, kind, and gentle.
